4 Most unhealthy cancer causing foods
Everyone thinks that Microwave popcorn and Salmon are some of the most harmless things to eat. Better yet every time you turn on a commercial there is a constant push for diet free foods and beverages. However, recent studies show that many of these products are linked to Cancer and other chronic illnesses such as Diabetes. Today we explore the many reasons these foods are harmful to your health and why reading every ingredient is imperative to ensuring you are eating something that is not only nutritious but manufactured in a cancer free environment. 1 Microwave Popcorn
For year’s weight loss programs and some doctors and nutritionists would recommend eating popcorn as it was a nutritious and healthy snack to munch on between meals. With the onslaught of microwaves and doing everything quick and fast, this has brought in a new realm of problems. Microwave popcorn is not only not healthy it can be quite dangerous to your health. There are several ingredients that contribute to this dangerous product. For starters, the bags the popcorn is stored in are lined with a chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid or PFOA for short. This same chemical can be found in Teflon. In a recent study, PFOAs has been linked to causing infertility in women. Several studies both in humans and rats link PFOAs to increasing cancer related illnesses such as the bladder, kidney, liver, pancreas, and testicles. Additionally the chemical diacetyl is applied to the popcorn itself. This chemical alone is so lethal that the Conagra Foods had to remove it from their popcorn brand ACT as it was causing lung problems for the factory workers who were making the product.
2 Non-Organic Fruits
Did you know that non organic fruits for the most part are raised on farms where human waste is used as a form of fertilizer? Appetizing is not. To make matters worse these fruits are inundated with boatloads of pesticides such as atrazine, thiodicarb, and organophosphrates to name a few. Wow, I wonder how good that is for our bodies. Well, in a study done in 2009 it was revealed that pregnant women who drank water contaminated with atrazine had given birth to babies with drastically reduced birth weights. Some of the worst offenders are apples, oranges, strawberries, and grapes. Washing your fruits off will not remove all the crud that these farmers splash onto their fruits. Best practice would always be to buy organic pesticide free fruit.
3 Canned Foods
Most canned foods are a significant concern due to the chemical that lines the inside of the cans. The chemical commonly known as bisphenol-A or BPA has been shown to affect the way the genes work in the brains of rats. If this chemical is potent enough to do that what do you think, it can do to a human being? The FDA, who could care less, has spoken up to have the BPA contents found in canned food minimized or reduced entirely. Wow, it must be bad if they are involved.
4 Farmed Salmon
This is the ultimate shocker. Everyone assumes that fish is the healthiest thing you can eat and certainly all the health experts advocate this. However, it depends on where fish are bred to determine the healthiness of the food. For example, Salmon believed to be entirely healthy can be a one way ticket to disease if you do not know where it was grown. Over 60 percent of Salmon in the United States of America are raised in crowded farms and have the most unnatural diets one can imagine. They are fed a battery of foods contaminated with chemicals, pesticides and other cancer causing chemicals. In fact, many of the farm fed salmon live in such constricted conditions that they are 30 times more likely to be bred with sea lice. Yummy is not. You know that delicious reddish pink color you see when you buy your Salmon well chances are it is not as natural as you would think. In fact, a lot of that is results of the fish being fed chicken litter. Wow, this just sounds so scrumptious.
