11Loss of coordination and motor functions

During the onset of dementia, you might start experiencing the loss of ability to carry out motor tasks and this is known as apraxia. This includes losing the ability to zip a zipper, button your shirt, or even remove the lid of a jar. There are even different types of apraxia which you might experience over time. These include gait apraxia- difficulties in coordinating walking movements, and oral apraxia- the inability to chew.
