You Wouldn’t Believe What These People Eat – Just disgusting!

Some cuisines offer pretty exotic meals, but the following dishes are rather disgusting. How would you feel if you actually have a plate with live frog in front of you? Probably you would be scared and wouldn’t even think to put it in your mouth. Well, some people are a bit braver or crazy if you will, and don’t have problems eating things even more disgusting than frogs. Here they are.

1 Octopus

It’s not weird to have an octopus, but dead and cooked. Well, apparently in Korea you can get it pretty much alive and kicking. Koreans call it “Sannakji” but, you can call it “Disgusting”. It is usually served lightly seasoned with sesame and sesame oil, where the live octopus can be cut into small pieces or prepared whole, then served with its arms still moving.

Because the suction cups on the tentacles are still active when the dish is served, special care should be taken to avoid the possibility of chocking. Good heavens.

2 Frogs

In Japan, Vietnam and China you can order a frog and eat it – alive. This “delicacy” is not that strange in Asian countries such, and people eat them quite often. It usually involves special frogs raised for cooking, which are later sliced open on a plate and disemboweled while alive. It’s all done right in front of you, while you sit there waiting for your meal. You’re then supposed to eat the frog complete with beating heart and flailing limbs. A man from China claims that he has been eating live frogs and rats for 40 years and allegedly it helped him avoid intestinal problems. We think this is beyond disgusting, scary and an appetite killer.

3 Tarantulas

Most people would never eat live tarantulas or scorpions, nor would they eat a deer’s penis and testicles.
Well, not Louis Cole. He is already a YouTube sensation and in the videos he makes you can see him eat these mortifying creatures and then some more of the worst things imaginable. His YouTube channel includes more than 36 of the most disgusting videos you will ever see. If you have the stomach to endure his videos where he munches spiders, go ahead and check him out. Or don’t. We wouldn’t.

4 Snakes

In 2007, the 46-year old Sutari Nayak from Orissa, India, became famous for eating live snakes just for fun. Nayak was catching snakes since childhood after a friend’s challenge: “The snakes are biting you, can’t YOU bite the snakes?”
Since then, he has been biting and eating snakes without cooking or roasting them and has become the town’s biggest star. He has even earned some extra money with his peculiar show. Well, at least he “cleans” the town from the dangerous snakes.

5 Larvae

Even Italians aren’t immune when comes to eating disgusting meals. Notable for containing live insect larvae, “casu marzu” is a traditional sheep milk cheese from Sardinia, Italy. Larvae are introduced to the cheese deliberately to promote an advanced level of fermentation and breakdown of the cheese’s fats. This makes the cheese very soft, with some liquid seeping out. Some people clear the larvae from the cheese before consuming while others don’t. This picture would cause us some nightmares.

6 Ants

In Denmark, there is a restaurant (not just any, but a ranked on a list of 50 best restaurants in the world) where there is a salad served with ants in it. And in case you are not afraid to eat ants, you will have to pay $300 for this. The ants are offered as a crunchy, gluten-free alternative to croutons, and taste like ginger, cilantro, and lemongrass. And ants. But of course, it’s gluten-free, so no worries.

7 Cockroaches

In USA there was a man who died while eating these terrible pests. You would think he was disgusted, but no, he choked because he had too many. Thirty-two-year-old Edward Archbold collapsed minutes after winning the contest in South Florida. Yes, they were crazy enough to have a contest in eating cockroaches. Edward, a father of two, ate over 60 grams of meal worms, 35 three-inch-long “super worms” and a bucket of roaches. He took part in the contest because he wanted to give the first prize, a python, to his friend as a gift. According to an autopsy, he choked to death. This is by far the most disgusting thing on this list. We hope we didn’t disturb you too much.
