Dr. Janssen claims- “We have [vitamin] K1 and K2. K1 is in spinach, broccoli, green vegetables, blueberries, all types of fruit and vegetables. K2 is better absorbed by the body. It is in Dutch cheese, I have to say, and French cheese as well”
For adult males the recommended daily value of vitamin K necessary is around 120 micrograms while for adult females it is only around 90 micrograms.

Since vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin, it makes proteins for healthy bones and normal blood clotting. Thus, it contributes to wound healing and bone health. The Harvard School of Public Health has stated that vitamin K helps in producing 4 out of the 13 proteins necessary for blood clotting.
Vitamin K also works with vitamin D to supply the bones with calcium to ensure that they develop properly. It is crucial for developing good bone mineral density which decreases the risk of fractures. Women who get enough vitamin k from their diets are less likely to break their hip bone, as per a report from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Women who were deficient in vitamin k had lower bone mass density and there were reportedly more cases of hip fractures in these women.
