1 Adding oil to water when making pasta
We all enjoy delicious pasta, but when cooking this scrumptious meal, some people have the habit of adding oil to their water. They do this to either prevent the pasta from sticking together or to stop the water from boiling over. Nevertheless, it’s not a good idea to add oil if you are going to eat pasta with sauce. The reason is that the oil will not allow the sauce to mix in with the pasta and that will result in an almost tasteless dish.
2Straining and rinsing your pasta water
Once the pasta is done boiling we usually just pour out the water it was made in. However, you might not have known that keeping the water and adding it your dish can enhance the dish’s flavor. If you are making sauce, the water can be useful in making the sauce have more consistency with your pasta. Another reason why the sauce may not stick and mix well with your pasta could be due to the fact that you rinse the pasta after boiling it.
3Waiting for a long time before stirring the pasta
Don’t wait too long before stirring your pasta because it is likely to stick together at the beginning due to the amount of starch it releases. In fact, it would be best to start stirring the pasta right away, before it starts sticking together.
4Not allowing meat to thaw
Before cooking meat that was kept in your fridge, you should allow it to thaw. Take the meat out of the fridge and let it reach temperature because cold meat doesn’t cook evenly. Cooking cold meat will most of the time result in the inside being undercooked with the outside being burned.
5Cutting meat without letting it rest first
Most of the juices contained in meat are present in the center. It would be better to wait a little bit before cutting the meat up for cooking. This will allow its juices to spread evenly out to its sides as well.
