The Doll family who also played on the classic 1932 show The Freaks had their hand in the film industry as well. In addition to their careers on this hit TV show,all four family members starred in the classic movie The Wizard of OZ. 4 Largest Family of Dwarf Performers Who Survived the Auschwitz Concentration Camp

The Ovitz family one of the largest dwarf families reported is a beacon of hope to any entertainer that has struggled. Their father Shimson Eizik Ovitz a well-known entertainer rabbi and dwarf fathered ten children. Seven of those children were dwarfs. This multi talented family formed their band and performed all over Europe and played their instruments and sang until 1944 when they were caught by the German government and put into the Auschwitz Concentration camps. It is there the family endured horrible painful experiments by the crazed Doctor Josef Mengele. The children were blinded, had painful bone marrow removal procedures and even had their teeth removed until they were freed from captivity on January 27, 1945. Several months before moving to Israel in May 1949 the family had resumed their performances until they retired in the 1950s. Most of the family members lived well into their 90s.
