Amazing Things Built From Legos
You don’t have to be a kid to play with Lego bricks. The following wonderful things such as life size cars, rockets and buildings were made by grownups and only from Legos. It is fascinating to see how much time, patience and creativity was invested in them. We think they are amazing. Do you share our opinion?
1 Huge Nintendo DSi model made using Lego bricks
This huge Nintendo DSi is big enough to actually hurt you if it falls over you. But, apparently that didn’t stop the creator to use over 50,000 Lego bricks and pieces in order to construct it. Its weight is around 113 kilograms and was made especially for a marketing ploy. Nintendo itself asked for this 2 meters high creation.
2 Lego Pharaoh
To advertise a new section of Legoland in Windsor called Kingdom of the Pharaohs, an enormous 5 meter statue of the Pharaoh was floated up the river Thames. In order to be carried to London, this statue was brought with a boat all the way from the Czech Republic to Legoland Windsor. This statue took an entire team of experts almost half a year to put together and took a couple hundred thousand Lego bricks to build and quite literally weighs a ton. The new section of the theme park cost about three million euros to design and build and is already open for business.
3 Entire house made of Lego bricks
This one probably wins this list, considering the fact that most of the other creations are toys, figures or cars. Here, you can actually live. The designer, along with one thousand people who volunteered to help, spent a long time to put this behemoth together. But, even though such effort was put in the building, no one wanted a house made out of three million Lego bricks. At first Legoland was considering to take it, but decided it would just be way too expensive to move the entire structure. Also, it turns out that the proper planning permits had not been in order, which means that the house was torn down. In the end, the bricks were saved and given to charity.
4 Lego replica of A380 Airbus
This structure is said to be the largest airplane made out of Lego bricks in the world. This Lego replica is designed after the A380 Airbus, which is supposed to be the biggest plane in the world. The structure is about 2 meters long, and 1.8 meters wide. Also, the entire structure can be split in half, at which point you can get a look at the incredibly insane amount of details put into all three stories of this gigantic replica. The creators made sure to involve every little detail such as landing lights, air brakes, landing gear, fuel tankers, baggage carts. The designer of this airplane replica went all out and took about 75,000 pieces to construct and was constructing it for almost a year.
5 Life size F1 Ferrari made entirely of Legos
It turns out that the actual Red F1 Ferrari wasn’t enough. Sixteen Lego experts worked together to design and build the Ferrari deficiency. The design alone took about half an year to complete and then other ten days working around the clock with a team of people to put it all together. The amount of Lego bricks required was in the hundreds of thousands. The replica is so detailed that the seat can actually fit a real person quite nicely and the steering wheel is a perfect match, except that it’s made of Lego bricks and no, it can’t be driven.
6 Lego chandelier
The idea probably came out of practicality: having a really big and elegant chandelier but not too expensive and made of Legos. But still, how a Lego chandelier isn’t expensive, knowing that the creator of this masterpiece needed thousands of Legos in order to create it? He included lots of transparent Lego window pieces, and then put all of these pieces together into a massive chandelier design. The chandelier is said to be massive in size, and quite stunning even though it isn’t made of the usual crystals that make up a chandelier. The structure is bigger than the man who built it and it was probably a real pain to lift it up and hang it on the ceiling.
