We know our readers are fans of HBO’s stellar show ‘Game of Thrones’ that is in its last season and there are also fans of the huge hit franchise ‘Harry Potter’. Why are we talking about ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Game of Thrones’? Well, because many of you may not have noticed they both share a similar cast of actors and actresses.
Yes, both the hit TV show and the loved movie franchise have had some of the same actors. Many of the hardcore fans who look out for things like this may have seen these actors and actresses but some of you may not have noticed the similarities.
She played Catelyn Stark, the Lady of Winterfell, the wife of Lord Eddard Stark and mother of Robb, Sansa, Arya, Brandon, and Rickon. She was undoubtedly one of the strongest and most loved characters of GoT, which is why her death at the Red Wedding shocked fans. She also appeared in ‘Harry Potter’ as Hermione Granger’s mother.
David Bradley played the distasteful Walder Frey, the head of House Frey, Lord of the Crossing. This evil character was responsible for the deaths of Catelyn, Robb and Talisa Stark. In ‘Harry Potter’, he played a similarly distasteful character, Argus Flinch, a caretaker at Hogwarts. The veteran actor starred in a ton of movies in his heyday.
Natalia Tena played Osha in GoT, a Wildling in service to House Stark. She protected Bran and Rickon after they escaped Winterfell. In ‘Harry Potter’, she played Nymphadora Tonks, a member of the Order of The Phoenix. She was married to Remus Lupin and was murdered by her aunt Bellatrix Lestrange.
Ralph played Dagmer Cleftjaw in ‘Game of Thrones’. Dagmer was a noted Ironborn reaver serving House Greyjoy. He was known for his skills in battle and his loyalty. He was killed by Ramsay Bolton. In ‘Harry Potter’, Ralph played Amycus Carrow, the brother of Alecto Carrow. He was a Dark Wizard and a Death Eater.
Hinds played Mance Rayder in seasons 3, 4 and 5. He was the leader of the Free Folk and was known as the “King-Beyond-the-Wall”. In ‘Harry Potter’, he played Aberforth Dumbledore, the younger brother of Albus Dumbledore. He was the owner of Hog’s Head Inn and assisted Harry and his friends on several occasions.
