1 Is a third generation professional wrestler
Johnson is a third generation wrestler. His grandfather Peter Maivia and father Rocky Johnson, both were acclaimed wrestlers for various promotions in the US and nearby countries. He is also related to the highly acclaimed and revered Anoa’I wrestling family and is cousin of wrestlers like the Yokozuna and Rikishi.
2 He is not only just a US citizen
In 2009, Dwayne Johnson became a Canadian citizen due to changes in the country’s citizenship act. His mother Lia is from Samoa, but his father, Rocky was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia and Johnson was given the full citizenship rights, thanks to him being Rocky son.
3 Played Canadian Professional League football
He has played professional football in the Canadian Football League. He joined the Calgary Stampeders in 1995, but was cut from the squad two months into the season. He has also played college football for the University of Miami, winning the national championship in 1991.
4 He was the youngest to become WWE Champion
The Rock won his first ever WWE Championship in 1998 beating the Mankind in the finals of a tournament for the vacant WWE title. He became the champion at just 26 years of age and set the record for being the youngest WWE champion. His record was beaten by Brock Lesner, who defeated him in 2002 at Summerslam and won the title at the age of 25 years.
5 Made a record with his Hollywood debut
The Rock made his much awaited Hollywood debut as a leading man in 2002’s The Scorpion King. Johnson was paid $5.5 million dollars for it and this made into the Guinness Book of World Records, since it was the highest salary paid to any actor for his first movie.
6 Owns the right to “The Rock”
Dwayne Johnson owns the right for the name ‘The Rock’ including the logos, phrases and everything. Since the rights to the name were previously owned by the WWE, its owner Vince McMahon received executive producer credits in many of Johnson’s earlier movies, when he was under WWE contract. He is credited with the invention of the word smackdown and WWE used the word as the name for one of its marquee TV shows in 1999 and the name still continues.

Not many know that Johnson has earned Bachelors Degree of General Studies in Criminology and Physiology. He did this while playing football for the University of Miami, in the Canadian Football League and he also won the national championships as a part of Miami Hurricanes and was named an All-American.

The Rock eats an insane amount of food everyday to keep his built, to go with the insane workout schedule. He eats 5,200 calories per day, with 1,000 calories coming from cod alone. He eats 10 pounds of food in a single day. He also loves sharing the pics of his lunches, dinners and even health food on his Instagram page.

He is the only athlete to host the Saturday Night Live (SNL) more than two times. He first appeared on SNL in 2000, becoming the first WWE wrestler to headline the show. He was there to promote the 4-way match of the WWE show Wrestle mania. He has a recurring character of The Rock Obama.

The Rock is the first ever eight-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He has had a great career with WWE winning 17 championship reigns, 8 as World Heavyweight Champion and 2 as WCW heavyweight champion. He has also won the Intercontinental title twice and tag titles 5 times.
