12 suspenseful and mysterious celebrity deaths
In today’s technology and internet age, stories involving any death of a celebrity become instant international headline. But this was true in the age before the technology, when deaths of celebrities made huge news.
Most of the celeb deaths say tales of compulsion, dependence on alcoholic drinks, use of narcotics and depression have caused death of many well-known celebrities who found it hard to handle the fame and fortune they gathered in a very short time. But the news was the mystery for whatever reasons; they failed to avoid what were very ill-fated and premature deaths.
But the biggest deaths are the celeb deaths that are shrouded in mystery that still remains unsolved. The suspense of unknown details involving the deaths of these celebrities are still unsolved and it is probable that we won’t ever know what exactly happened.
1 Natalie Wood
Natalie Wood was an acclaimed actress who earned an academy award nomination for the movie Rebel without a Cause (1955). She was married to actor Robert Wagner and on the fateful day in 1981, she, her husband and actor Christopher Walken were spending time at a yacht.
Wood was reportedly intoxicated and accidently entered the water and drowned. Captain of the yacht Dennis Davern claimed to hear noise of fights between Wood and Wagner before Wood’s disappearance.
2 Jeff Buckley
Jeff Buckley was a talented singer and songwriter. On 1997, Buckley reportedly went for a swim despite being fully clothed in the Wolf River Harbour, including a pair of boots. Unfortunately, he never resurfaced alive and his body was found 6 days after the incident.
Many theories were put forth by fans and media as to how he died especially considering that he was fully clothed while swimming in the harbour. But autopsy revealed that he didn’t have any drugs, alcohol or any such substance in his body and his death was ruled as just a sorrowful incident.
3 Marilyn Monroe
The ultimate sex symbol and famous actress of 1950s Marilyn Monroe passed away in 1962 at the age of 36 due to overdose of drugs at her home. But conspiracy theorists have put forth theories of murder as Monroe allegedly had romantic affairs with President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert Kennedy and the organised crime mafia killed her in order to send a message to the Kennedy family.
4 Bruce Lee
Bruce Lee was the biggest Asian star in Hollywood before the likes of Jackie Chan and Jet Li. His movies Enter the Dragon, Fist of Fury and Game of Death are considered to be the best martial arts movies of all time. Lee was also a legitimate tough guy and is considered to be one of the greatest martial artists of all time.
Unfortunately, he died at the age of 33 reportedly due to an allergy to a painkiller he was given. Now the mystery here is that how can a well-trained and super fit guy like Lee died of a simple allergic reaction. Involvements of Triads and hand of organised crime have been alleged in his case.
5 John F. Kennedy Jr.
When a plane plunged into the sea in 1999, the person killed in the plane crash had a very famous last name. He was John F. Kennedy Jr. son of former US president John F. Kennedy and that’s where the mystery and conspiracy comes into play.
Kennedy was killed along with his wife Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, and her elder sister Lauren in the plane crash that he was piloting. Many conspiracy theories have been put forth but have never been proved accurate.
6 Andy Kaufman
Andy Kaufman was a well-known actor known for his brilliant comic timing. He also had a brilliant rivalry with professional wrestler Jerry Lawler and even wrestled at Lawler’s company. In 1983, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare fro of lung cancer.
He continued performing despite illness while seeking alternative treatments, but the cancer spread from his lungs to his brain and he passed away in 1984 due to kidney failure at the age of 35 years old. Theories about him faking his own death started because Kaufman had allegedly told people that he wants to fake his death and comeback 20 years later.
7 Princess Diana
Wife of England’s Prince Charles, Princess Diana of Wales had become just more than a trophy wife and garnered worldwide fame due to her philanthropic work and her alleged affair with Dodi Al-Fayed. She was killed in a car crash along with Dodi in 1997 in a Paris tunnel.
Dodi’s father Mohamed Al-Fayed who owns the Paris Ritz hotel maintained that the crash was pre planned and accused MI 6 and Duek of Edinburg for his son and Diana’s death.
8 Bob Crane
Star of hit TV show Hogan’s Heroes Bob Crane was found dead in his Arizona house, beaten to death in 1978. There were no suspects found in the case and it still remains a big mystery as the murderer has still not being found.
9 Chris Benoit and Family
The murder homicide of Chris Benoit and his family including his wife Nancy and son Daniel is a well-known case. Chris Benoit killed his wife and son before committing suicide by hanging himself with his weight training machine in 2007.
While the official reasons of the dreadful event given were brain damage suffered by Chris Benoit and years of drug abuse due to pain, but what exactly happened at the moment causing Benoit to become impulsive at the moment and take the extreme step will never be known.
10 Brittany Murphy
Another young death, actress Brittany Murphy died in 2009 at the age of 32 due to pneumonia and anaemia. The reasons for her death have been speculated as deliberate poisoning to mould, as her fans did not accept that the actress died due to pneumonia.
11 Andres Escobar
Colombian Men’s National Team player Andrés Escobar was murder in his country of Columbia after his team was eliminated from the 1994 FIFA World Cup. The team was eliminated due to Escobar scoring an own goal in the crucial match against the United States of America.
Escobar was shot six times by 3 people outside a club in his home town of Medellin. His murder is widely believed to be a punishment for his own goal which resulted in his team’s ouster from the 1994 tournament. One legitimate theory is of Colombian drug lords playing a part in a triggerman being jailed for the crime when they were, in fact, behind the killing.
12 Elvis Presley
King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley transcended the boundaries of countries by his music alone. He became a cultural icon and is often regarded as once in a lifetime entertainer. He is so famous that he still has impersonators all over the world, earning money copying his style.
Elvis Presley reportedly became increasingly overweight and unwell during later years of his life and finally was found unresponsive on his bathroom floor in 1977 and was pronounced death after attempts of reviving him failed. The original cause of his death is still unknown but everything from drugs, to constipation has been speculated since his death.
It was reported that Elvis wanted to retire from the limelight and faked his death so that he could live the rest of his life in peace. Numerous sightings of Elvis have been reported by people who still believe Elvis is alive.
