While Nicole’s efforts to instill the belief that her daughter is lovely no matter what, her family and most people are aware of the high medical risks associated with little Winry’s condition.
“Her health and happiness are our top priority. We have to monitor her with sunscreen. I’m careful with hats and that sort of thing. I know our regular dermatology appointment is probably going to be our best friend growing up,” said Nicole.

Nevertheless, Nicole confesses that she is more concerned about Winry’s future exposure to bullying and the frequency with which she may encounter it, due to her unusual birthmark on her face.
