How to achieve perfect balance between your private life and your job
Stressful jobs can really detach us from our private lives, no matter how hard we try to keep those two things in balance. Staying longer at work and having less time for your loved ones can seriously damage your personal life. Keeping a good balance between these two segments can be a real thing to master, but with good practice of the following tips, you will do it in no time. Here we go.
1 Clearly set your priorities
When you have your priorities assigned, you will be reaching decisions easily and it would be easier for you to deal when deadlines that knock on your door. Over time, your priorities will change or vary, but you will always know how to properly evaluate, which one of them will work best for you.
2 Learn to say “no”
This is perhaps the most difficult lesson to master for any of us, especially when it comes to managing our time. Learning how to say “no” is the most difficult thing for some people, but once you learn how and when to say it, it would be the easiest thing for you. Although most of us don’t want to disappoint others, we must learn to know where our borders are, especially when it comes to work.
3 You know that the mere presence is not always productive
You are aware that if you only sit at work or simply be present somewhere, it does not mean that it will bear fruit, therefore skillfully avoid unproductive situations whenever you can. This way you will save precious time that you can actually spend with your loved ones. This is tightly connected with the learning to say “no”.
4 Successfully schedule your energy
You know that when you finish the work it doesn’t mean that your day is finished. Therefore, constantly look for ways to save you energy or learn to bestow the necessary energy that can help you do other things. Keep your remained energy for your family when you return from work.
5 The institution/company you work for must know that you have your own life
Keep in mind that you are not stuck in the big corporate giants that require you to sacrifice every minute of your life. It’s only a job. Even if you don’t have a partner or children, don’t let your “free time” be abused. Again, learning to say no and setting your priorities will get you out of unpleasant situations such as working during holidays.
6 Exercise several times a week
The more energy you spend, the more you get. Exercising keeps you in shape and gives you more energy to do your things during the day or the week. Physical exercises are perfect when it comes to releasing endorphin, the hormone of happiness. This way you will stay balanced, energized and in shape.
7 Do you do what you want to do?
Do things that make you happy. Have a warm bath, read a book, walk in nature and of course do your hobbies. Just occasionally completely give in to your favorite activity as the outside world does not exist.
8 Use your vacation days wisely
When you are on your day off, forget about checking your e-mails, logging in on your social media accounts… Just don’t drag work with you. Instead relax completely and don’t think about work. Instead, having your day off would mean nothing – you will remain tired and you would keep doing your work inefficiently.
9 Use tools and applications that help you be more productive
There are countless tools and apps, all you need to do is find the right ones for yourself and make a useful scheme that will help you go through your day. Productivity will become your strong side and you will be proud of that.
