12 Clothing Items That May Not Be Good For Your Health
You probably never would have imagined that clothing items could harm you. But in reality, many popular apparels and clothing accessories can harm your health in more ways than you know. For instance, the fabrics that you wear or even the sunglasses you choose may not suit your skin or eyes. Wearing uncomfortable skin-tight clothes just to look fashionable can have some negative consequences too.
The things you wear should not only make you look good but should be safe and comfortable as well. So, here are 12 clothing items you should avoid buying as they can be really bad for your health.
1Halter tops or dresses
Outfits like halter tops or dresses can put a lot of pressure on your neck, especially if your chest is quite large. Clothes with ties usually hold the entire weight on your neck while T-shirts distribute the weight evenly across your shoulders. So, when you wear these outfits, you have to maintain an uncomfortable position in which your head will be tilting forwards while your shoulders get rounded and lowered.
Too tight clothes are not good but neither are oversized clothes. For example, neck and back discomfort can be caused by large and heavy hoodies. Even wide sleeves make you keep your arms in unnatural positions, leading to tension in the muscles of your body. Wearing an oversized hoodie with a large hood covering your head makes it difficult to see. In this case, the person wearing it will have to stretch and strain their neck forward to be able to see clearly. Moreover, the hood left hanging on your back tends to unpleasantly constrict your throat.
3Bamboo fabric clothing
Textiles made from natural bamboo are typically very tough and rough too. Various chemicals are then used to soften the fibers to give the fabric some elasticity. The chemical used for the processing include sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, and carbon disulfide. Needless to say, that these chemical compounds are hazardous for both your body and the environment.
4Extremely tight leggings
Constantly wearing leggings can result in skin irritation. The dense material that leggings are made of make them pretty tight, so when you move, the fabric rubs your delicate skin. Your body also tends to sweat when you wear leggings, and most of your body’s heat and sweat is absorbed into the fabric. This makes it a humid and warm ground for bacterial growth. To prevent this, change your leggings frequently and wash them out after using them.
