Choose glasses according to your face shape
Good eye wear not only protects your eyes or helps you get a better look, but also gives a whole new look to your face. It is important to pick good glasses, that won’t look weird on you, and in order to do that, you should choose them by the shape of your face. Here we have the basic face shapes (heart shape, oval, square, diamond, triangle, round or oblong). Which one is yours and what type of glasses are suitable for you?
1 Heart shaped face
Just like the heart, the face with this shape has broader upper part and goes slightly narrow as it goes down the cheeks. People with heart shaped faces should use glasses that are wider at the bottom, or they can use frame less glasses. Avoid other types because they would emphasize the broad upper part of your face.
2 Oval shaped face
If you have an oval shaped face, congratulations, you are lucky because this shape looks good with practically every frame of glasses. People with oval faces can also pull out any hair style. What’s the secret? Nothing, but good symmetry. When you are picking glasses, make sure you get a pair that is as wide as the broadest part of your face and avoid narrow ones because they can affect your face symmetry.
3 Square shaped face
As the name says, the lines of the square shaped faces are a bit sharper and the bones are pretty visible. Glasses can soften these sharp lines and in that order, always pick glasses that don’t have sharp edges. Round and oblong lenses are recommendable, as well as lenses that go narrower in depth.
4 Diamond shaped face
This is the most uncommon shape face. When picking suitable glasses, pick the ones that will soften your eye area. This way you will soften the angles of the upper part of your face. Best shape for glasses are oval or cat eyes and make sure that the frame doesn’t cover your eyebrows.
5 Triangle shaped face
In this case, sunglasses that have more details on top of the rim are recommendable. Cat shaped frames are perfect for triangle shaped faces. Probably you have noticed that cat shaped glasses usually are decorated with rhinestones or little details like that. This way you will draw off attention from your narrow and pointy lower part of your face.
6 Round shaped face
Opposite of the square shaped faces, the round shape does not have sharp lines and in fact, there is no definition here, as there is a square shape. When you are picking glasses, your main goal is to make your face appear more angular and slimmer. Narrow framed glasses will elongate your face. Rectangular lenses are perfect for this shape.
7 Oblong shaped face
These type of faces are pretty long and not wide enough. Usually, this type has long nose, so when people with oblong shaped face are choosing glasses, they should seek frames that would shorten their face and make it appear smaller. The best shaped glasses for these faces are the ones that are bigger in height and not in width. The lenses should cover the entire area of the eye. Frames with low bridges will shorten your nose and make sure that the frames aren’t too thin or too thick.
