These Beauty Products From the 80s Look Almost Unrecognizable Today
We all know for a fact that every woman has that one beauty product that she loves. It can be anything, from her favorite shade of lipstick to mascara to her favorite hair dryer. But, did you know what these products looked like a few years ago?
Well, today we’re taking a walk down memory lane to see how women’s beauty products have evolved through the years and how easy to use they have become. Trust us; some of these images will shock you. Back then getting anything done to your face, skin or hair was a tedious task.
If you keep in touch with beauty trends, you know that sheet masks are the new craze. They are super easy to use and simply have to be applied. All masks come in a cream, liquid or sheet form. However, as the first picture shows, in the past beauty masks meant applying whatever the ingredient was. Every ingredient was applied separately and there was no single product containing the derivatives and goodness of almost everything.
Stationary hair dryers are still found in many salons as they serve their purposes. However, in the past, these were the only kind and our modern tiny hair dryers were unimaginable. However, in the past, these large machines looked almost like a cement mixer or a large bucket as the picture on the left shows! Today, machines are much smaller.
Blow drying is a must after shampooing. Going out with wet hair is a mistake no one should make. However, this was a much more tedious process before. Like the previous point shows, the hair drying machine was quite large and stationary. Compared to that, today we have portable, tiny and powerful blow dryers that can do the work in just seconds.
If you have been on social media recently, you must have come across videos of women applying anti-cellulite creams and massaging. This is the new craze as everyone wants to be skinny. People in the past also wished the same but it wasn’t as easy as it is now. The picture on the left shows an anti-cellulite machine of 1928. It looks like the person would have to put in the actual effort to lose the cellulite unlike today when it is so easy.
Everyone loves thick, long and defined lashes. That is exactly what mascara does. The first picture shows a mascara bottle from the 1940s. The bottle is just normal glass, the brush is just rudimentary. Today, mascaras are more refined and the brushes are more functional and sturdy. Both the inner and outer substance is completely different.
