After killing the cop, he was noticed by a shoe store worker, who later decided to chase Oswald. Oswald visited a movie theater, and the shoe store worker named Johnny Brewer followed Oswald. He asked a theater employee if Oswald had a ticket and she replied no. Johnny Brewer asked her to call the police. He was caught there.
