2No one knows when this temple was built

First, it was reported that the temple was built in only 19 years. However, there is no real evidence that can prove it. Some experts also believe that this temple was built over many centuries due to its huge size, various sculptures, and architectural style. On the contrary, it is also heard that monuments inside these caves date back to 600 and 1000 EC. It is one of the most important UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India.

3Kailasa temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva

When we go inside the temple, there’s a central shrine dedicated to Shiva within the courtyard. This particular shrine was carved with gathering halls, inner and outer rooms, windows, images of deities, and niches. In addition, this shrine was carved with a stone lingam, which is an abstract representation of Lord Shiva in the center. The hall inside this temple catches eyes as it looks fantastic.

4The Kailasa temple is carved from top to bottom

Labors cut rock temple in U shape. At the top, you see elephant carvings pointing your way down. On the ground floor of the main building, it looks as if a mass of giant stone elephants are holding the temple. The stone elephant encircles a 100-foot-high pillar that serves as the main attraction in the temple complex. Details about the ruler who built this temple have not been documented anywhere. But it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site.
